Woman Crashes Her Car, Saves Her Morning Coffee

A 22-year old woman from Oakland, California landed in the waters of the Oakland Estuary after losing control of her car this past Thursday, per the Associated Press, but she never lost her grip on her morning coffee. She was apparently reaching for her cell phone around 6 a.m. when the car sped out of control and became lodged under a home on stilts on the water.

Car…sped…lodged…under a home…HELLO!

HOWEVER…

She got out of the car uninjured and holding her coffee cup.

Do I hear the Bond Theme playing gently in the background????

Send Out Cards — additional information

Hey Ya’ll:

I am having more and more fun with Send Out Cards. This is the best business builder I think I have ever had.

I have set it up so that you can have a free gift account if you sign into:

www.sendoutcards.com/fempowerment

When you click through on the banner, you need to put in a User Name and a Password. I will give it to you if you write to me at DoubleOhSandy[at]yahoo[dot]com. Yes, what this means is that I am going to pay for you to send out a few cards, to see how it works.

I can also walk you through the templates, so you understand how it works. Wow, I’m finding something new every day!

More in a bit — I’m uploading photos that I took during the View From The Bay shoot, and sending them with little funny “taglines” to the camera man, Lisa Quinn, and the like. Did I say I was having fun???

View From The Bay (ABC) interview—we had a BLAST!

Oh my goodness. Yesterday was the best day. I was on View From The Bay—I tried to upload the link for their viewer here, but I can’t get it to take… so here is the link to the show. (I am still going to list it under “Podcasts” — and maybe my sainted James can figure out how to actually make it post here so you won’t have to “go get it.”)

Make sure to watch both halves of the interview. They gave me 4 minutes, and then decided to give us 4 more after the commercial! We were having so much fun. This is my parents’ house, and a friend had come over to watch it Live with my mom. She said my mom basically freaked out when suddenly we were down in her closet! She said that she “Hadn’t had time to clean it” (As if!)

When you follow the link, you can see lots of tips that I gave them that I could talk about. If you’ve read my book, you know there are about 50 pages of tips! They picked some of them for me to show on the air, and have others posted on their website.

If, after you read this, you could put a comment on their website, I would sure appreciate it! I’d love to get invited back!

The First 2008 fEmpowerment Coaching Teleseminar

I have decided to post my first 2008 fEmpowerment Accountability Teleseminar, since many of you have been curious about what having me as your coach might be like. Cindi Dawson acted as my “Assistant Coach” on the teleseminar, and we had as much fun as we do in our coaching calls!

BONUS INTERVIEW PODCAST: Eve Abbott, the Organizer Extraordinaire

This “Coffee Chat” podcast is with Eve Abbott of Organizer-Extraordinaire.com. She has graciously offered that if you visit her website and purchase her book, tell her that you found out about her here, and she will send you an autographed book and another free goodie! (NOTE: I don’t get any “kickbacks” from any of these interviews—these really are my experts, and I want to share them with you… no strings attached!)

I mentioned (in this Coffee Chat and I believe my Chat with Scott Smith) the book by Oprah’s Organizer, Peter Walsh. The actual title of that book is Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat? Like Eve, Peter Walsh states that clutter is basically symptomatic of an unresolved issue in your life. I saw him on a recent episode of the Oprah show, and his specific quote was that “eating more and buying more is an attempt to fill the need for something more. Until you get those underlying issues dealt with, all the rest is a waste of time.”

I hope you enjoy this podcast, and please let me know if there are other experts you might like to hear interviewed on our Coffee Chats.

And, yes… next podcast will be a “regular” one—I promise! I’ve been working on the V.I.P. Podcasts and having a great time with them… but Regular Podcast 9 is on its way soon.

NBC.com – Dr. Laura Berman’s Better Sex Podcast

Today, I received a shout-out on the fantastic Dr. Laura Berman Better Sex Podcast. Yippee! This is an absolutely great podcast. I love the way that Marcus and Dr. Laura relate – they make me smile just to listen to them.

Best of all – I learn something new every time!

Thanks for the Shout-out, Marcus!

Earth Hour Today, 8-9 pm

I just received the following from one of my Bond Grrls in Melbourne, Australia. If you check out Google.com’s website today, too, it has a black background — in “celebration” of Earth Hour.

From: merr<snip>

Hi All,

Did you know that Earth Hour takes place today?  What is this?  Well, apparently the idea started in Sydney last year, where between 8-9pm on 29th March, businesses and individual households turn off all their lights for one hour, to become a little more aware of the huge amount of power our daily lives consume.

I’m writing this in the middle of “Earth Hour” (8.40pm Melbourne time), so I’m attempting to type by candle-light, which is a little difficult, particularly since the only candles I could find are scented ones, so I have “coffee” on one side and “ocean” on the other.  I think I’ll have to invest in some candle-sticks for next year!

Last year about 2 million people in Australia participated, and this year I think it’ll be much more (it has received lots of publicity in the newspapers, etc).  Many cities around the world are also taking part, including San Francisco, I think.  Lots of buildings in cities are turning off all the lights for an hour, which is very cool.

I snuck a look out my door, and it seems that most people in my street have turned out their lights too (or maybe they’re just out…).  I’ve also heard that some restaurants are taking part, so everyone will be eating by candle-light for an hour.  So, if you think of it, maybe you can have your own “earth-hour” tonight, between 8-9pm.  Its actually quite fun!

Love and Happy “Earth Hour” — Merr

Just a quick addition: I just read that last year it was hoped the energy consumption in Sydney might drop by 5% (during Earth Hour), but it actually dropped by 10%!  Isn’t that incredible?!  Even the Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House will be in darkness for the hour.  Cool!

BONUS INTERVIEW PODCAST: Dr. Monte from Fitness Rocks

This Coffee Chat podcast is with Dr. Monte of Fitness Rocks. I like to call Dr. Monte the Dr. Oz of the Internet. He brings medical information and education to lay people like Dr. Mehmet Oz does on Oprah — but in perhaps even a more amazing way… because he’s doing it for free! Dr. Monte has given up medicine to follow his empassioned path of helping get the word out on the amazing medical research being done every single day in the area of Health & Lifestyle.

In their practices, doctors have very pretty (or handsome) drug reps appearing at their offices weekly, to sell them the best new pill or potion (and to take them out on expensive golfing trips and luncheons — hey, my dad’s a doctor, this is the truth). Dr. Monte offers the other side to anyone who will listen — perhaps I should call him an “un-drug” rep. As you can imagine, there isn’t someone out there paid by any deep-pocket company to flog exercise, vegetables, and meditation to combat the pharmaceuticals — so I sincerely thank Dr. Monte for taking on this somewhat daunting job with all the passion and energy that this information deserves. You can change your life, and a great first step is listening to Dr. Monte’s podcast!

I hope you enjoy this podcast, and please let me know if there are other experts you might like to hear interviewed on our Coffee Chats.

And since some of you asked… next podcast will be a “regular” one — I promise!

Send Out Cards — my latest addiction!

Yeah, so fine. Can you tell that I’m going through my piles (even us fEmpowered grrrls do get piles!) and blogging up a storm based on sticky notes I’m finding?

I signed up for this a little while ago — and this is THE BEST business tool I’ve used in forever.  It’s called Send Out Cards. Using Send Out Cards, you get a choice of more cards than a Hallmark store, and you can personalize the cards and send them out whenever you want. You can manage campaigns — you can even spend an hour or so and “load up” a bunch of birthday cards, anniversary cards, and the like, and they will be sent out on the date that you desire.

This is the biggest boon for an entrepreneur or sales person, who wants to stay in touch but forgets to “schedule” it.  Send Out Cards even lets you send gifts, personalized with your own touch (the 4 brownies gift is the one that gets me the best “kudos” — but you can even send out books, like Think And Grow Rich, etc.  How great is THAT for me to send to folks that are considering joining my Mastermind programs… send them the Napoleon Hill book that started it all!)

You can also upload photographs (it’s easy), and then include them in a card. My friend who turned me onto this takes photos on her camera when she meets clients, and then immediately downloads that photo, and sends them a card or postcard with that photo on the front.  It even lets you annotate it with little “thought balloons.”

If you join and become an “Executive” Member, you can have them upload your handwriting.  THEN, the cards come out with your actual handwriting and signature on them. You can upload up to 4 signatures — one might be a personal one (for me, just “Sandy”), one might be a “business” one with my full name, number and email under it, and one can even be from you and your family, with all your signatures (as in, for, say, Xmas cards? Set up a “campaign” in October, to go out end of November, and just forget about it?)

The cards are actually stamped, yes, and so this is the sort of thing that clients are likely to open (and friends). I’m absolutely addicted — it’s so easy, and I am finding so many great cards.  Even — sadly, “Sorrow For The Loss Of Your Pet” cards (my assistant just had to put her dog to sleep). There’s just about everything.

If I’ve done it right, I think you can click here, and check it out. HOWEVER, you will need a User Name and Password to actually send out that free card (because I pay for you to be able to do it) — so please email me at doubleohsandy[at]yahoo[dot]com for one and then you can play!
